Launching a blog was never something I planned to do, but in the Summer of 2019 it just felt right. Writing is a big part of my professional life – making people or brands look good. I decided it was time to create a space to write as ‘me’. It turns out that after years of fine tuning my craft for the corporate world, it takes time to rediscover your own voice. That is still work in progress, but the focus of my writing emerged loud and clear – aviation.
There’s no doubt about it, aviation is in my blood. I feel alive when I’m at an airport or flying, and I miss that so much right now. I decided to connect with other people who share this passion and set out on a mission to invite some of the world’s most famous pilots and aviation figures to share their stories on the blog.
I still can’t quite believe that 17 inspirational people have shared their stories over the past year. It has been a true honour to welcome them onto the pages of LouiseRoseJones.com.
The best thing about starting a blog? There are two… actually, three.
First, watching people from all over the world connect through a shared interest is a joy to see. Secondly, meeting new people who have become friends, some of whom are now very close friends because of the blog’s existence. Finally, seeing young people inspired to pursue a career in aviation because sharing stories lets them ‘see what they can be’ is the icing on the cake.
To reflect back on the incredible people who have made the blog what it is, I am delighted to share this [link] video that celebrates why they love flying – a great reminder at a time when we’re not up in the air as much as usual.
Thank you for supporting the blog, and most of all, enjoying it! I am looking forward to what the next year will hold for LouiseRoseJones.com.
